Social and Emotional Development
I integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) into the daily routine through morning meetings, breathing exercises, and reflective journal prompts that help students build self-awareness and emotional regulation. As a trauma-informed educator, I prioritize connection before content, creating a classroom environment where students feel emotionally safe and supported. I stay attentive to signs of distress and respond with empathy, offering calm-down breaks, private check-ins, or referrals to school support staff when needed to ensure every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
